The Morning After: Premium Edition
Blogging may be a little light today, so in the meantime I'm going to post this open thread for you to comment on whatever presents itself: which, this weekend, it would seem is mainly pay-cable programming. Weigh in on the debut of Tracey Ullman's State of the Union, the return of The Tudors, episode 4 of John Adams or—since it may be a while before I get around to a full-fledged post—the end of In Treatment.
Unless you don't have premium cable, of course. In which case tell us what you spent the money on instead.
About Tuned In
James Poniewozik writes TIME magazine's Tuned In column, about pop culture and society. Tuned In, the blog version, is about the stuff we used to call "TV," whether it's in your living room, on your computer or--once the networks figure out the technology and line up the advertisers--in your dreams themselves.

Irrespective of anything else, a random note: I really like Mythbusters. Fantastic show, great premise, and I love learning that what we routinely see on television/action movies is frequently bunk that is scientifically impossible.
And if I ran CBS, I'd cut Jim Nantz and Billy Packer from doing the Final 4, and replace them with Gus Johnson and Bill Raferty - Gus's excited play-by-play makes every game more exciting (thank GOD he was there to do the Davidson games), and Raferty's enthusiasm is infectious in a fun (albeit occasionally crazy) way (see: "Onions!"). Seriously, CBS - Nantz is a good play-by-play guy, but Gus Johnson is simply incredible. Do sports fans a favor and promote Gus Johnson.

@Chad: Whats not to love about Mythbusters. One of my favorites was where Adam was sitting in a bathtub full of water and farting and catching the farts in a device as they exited the water so their composition could be tested. Now that is TV and science done right!
I watched the 4th installment of John Adams. I know some people have found it slow, but I've really enjoyed it and found it well crafted and acted.

@Chaddogg - I was legitimately concerned for Gus' life last night, if Davidson's buzzer beater had gone in, i'm pretty sure his head would've exploded. I was a PBP radio guy back in college for an ACC team, and they always taught us to be calm and collected, but for my money I'd rather watch Gus Johnson than Nantz. Everyone knows Nantz spends the whole tournament day dreaming about the Masters.
@Keith - I'm with you on John Adams, I haven't had a chance to watch my DVR'd 4th episode, but I'm really enjoying it. I think Giamatti has played Adams perfectly; stubborn, arrogant, but almost consistently not the one who gets the limelight, and you can see that it tortures him.

@Mike: Some thought he was mis-cast. I believe he should win some awards for his portrayal.

@Keith - Absolutely agree, he's done a great job. I'll be interested to see some more of the other characters, I'm not wild about Tom Wilkinson's Ben Franklin, but I think Stephen Dillane did a terrific job in very short time on screen as Jefferson.

I feel like I've run a mile sprint after every episode of The Riches. Exhausting. Captivating, but exhausting.
