Maureen Ryan Works So I Don't Have To

The Chicago Tribune's TV critic has put together this very useful list of when network TV series are returning post-strike.

Here's a fun game to play! Look down the list and see how many of them you're actually anxious to see again! Me, I have April 10 circled on my calendar, and... and... still looking...

Why do I have a feeling that by the end of the season, some networks may start to regret ever having let the strike happen?

I've kept a similar list - one addition, I think that Battlestar Galactica starts back on 4/4. Also, she has Reaper starting back on 4/22, and its been back for a couple weeks - according to my notes there is a new one this week, and then a break until the 22nd. Same for Smallville - its already back from strike, but will have a new episode this week, and then not one until 4/17. Maybe she was distinguishing between episodes that were actually filmed pre- and post- strike.

I'm very anxious to see:
The Office! Gossip Girl! Supernatural! Ugly Betty!

I'm looking forward to:
Smallville, Bones, Moonlight, and Reaper

I'll catch at some point:
Desperate Housewives, Back to You, Samantha Who?, My Name is Earl

In other news, Greek started back up on ABC Family last nite!

Tom Shaw:

I've committed to seeing Reaper through to the end, so I guess I'll be watching that. Otherwise wake me when September rolls around.

And if the '88 strike is anything to go by, won't fall numbers, and even spring numbers, still be in the basement? I'd have to think they planned ahead on this, given their announcements of looking into year-round schedules and what not (thus insulating them from advertisers expecting usual November numbers).

One thing I am wondering about is, whatever happened to the results from DVR viewership? The subject just dropped in the leadup to the writer's strike.
Did they determine some accurate estimation for DVR numbers, or were the results of ads watched on DVRs so dismal that everyone pushed the subject under the rug in the hopes the advertisers would forget?

Chaddogg:

April 10th had me at: "30 Rock - MILF Island."

God bless you Tina Fey. God bless you.

I was excited about last night when both CSI: Miami and Greek aired new episodes. The other dates that brought a smile to my face:
April 11 - Moonlight
April 24 - Ugly Betty

That's pretty much it. I am waiting patiently for Life and the summer shows to hit the airwaves.

idigress:

Woops - I did not see Bones on April 14. I got into this show during the strike (thanks Netflix) and I am pretty into it now (caught up on this season on Hulu).

In other news, sounds like Jezebel James has been put out of its misery. That didn't take long!

Masuri:

Moonlight! The rest is pretty much meh.
