Obama Supporters Petition Obama . . .
. . . using his own campaign website. Interesting, right?
Senator Obama - Please Vote NO on Telecom Immunity - Get FISA Right
It's a side-effect of the powerful you-centered campaign. His supporters can use Obama's own campaign infrastructure to organize against him his position. All the mybarackobama widgets are there to be exploited. For instance, you can sign up for a July 1 Meetup in Washington to pressure Democrats like Obama to reject the FISA bill. (There is even a belligerent troll posting comments on the site.) How much of this can the Obama webmasters allow as we get closer to the election?
UP FROM THE COMMENTS: Says Jayackaroyd, echoing Beth in Va., "We don't view it as being against him. We're trying to help him correct an error. One thing you should keep in mind, MS, is that many people signed up expressly for this campaign. So Obama may net win out of this because he picks another couple of thousand names for his mailing lists." Fair enough. See change above.
