Agreed. It's hard to interpret this move as anything other than a signal that John Edwards's endorsement of Hillary Clinton is forthcoming. People in John and Elizabeth Edwards's position don't do something like this by accident.

Of course, if John Edwards does endorse Hillary Clinton, he also will be exposing his entire campaign as a giant rhetorical sleight-of-hand.

He will be telling all of us that he is as much a keeper of the DLC flame as he ever was.

I also hoped, as soon as I saw this, that it means Elizabeth is feeling terrific and doesn't feel she needs to protect her energy and just spend time with her family. If so, that's great news.

Edwards missed his chance to endorse.

I'm delighted to see Mrs. Edwards is feeling well enough to do this. I do not believe this action is somehow a sign of a coming endorsement of Sen. Clinton. At this stage, it would be politically stupid for a clever politician to do this, since she is going to lose.

If so wow, and kudos to all of those who called it. Count me as part of the chorus that thought Elizabeth Edwards would never come around to Hillary Clinton under any circumstances and that the perceived John Edwards-Barack Obama post-Iowa tiff was overplayed. Looks like couldn't be more wrong.

This decision is even worse than the brilliant idea to bring aboard AmandaMarcotte. That was just a mistake; being affiliated with CAP is likely to tarnish the Edwards' reputations for a long time.

CAP keeps getting things wrong or making childlike arguments, thereby helping discredit themselves. See, for example, the recent false claim of plagiarism they leveled against McCain and then had to retract at their blog, ThinkProgress. They might also have made another major error more recently, but I haven't verified that (the "two-bit security guard" quote).

One of their Senior Fellows - who's married to someone who used to head a group that assisted the MexicanGovernment pass out IDCards to those who are here illegally - recently appeared to libel not just one but two politicians over at ThinkProgress:

No. I mean, hasn't John Edwards said unequivocally he won't endorse either candidate (while there is still a race)?

Tom Dashcle is a part of CAP. Several of Obama's advisors are a part of CAP. So no, I don't think this signals an endorsement by Edwards any time soon.

I honestly doubt Edwards will endorse Clinton KNOWING what that will do to the democratic party given that she is behind by every measure right now. He's just going to sit it out and count his stars that he isn't a superdelegate. Then campaign in the fall for the nominee.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth is going to do what she loves. Talk policy. And I'm glad she's feeling so much better.

Edwards is truly a man of the people, just as long as you define "people" as "the global elite".

It would not surprise me if John Edwards if endorses Clinton because HIllary probably promised him the vice presidency. Edwards positions and Obama's are identical but when it comes to John Edwards the most important thing is John Edwards. I pity the poor fool if he endorses Clinton for the promise of the Vice Presidency. If the incessantly lying and mud slinging Clinton ever wins the White House it will be her husband, Philandering Bill, who's the real Vice President. Being an opportunist on a par with the Clinton's it does not surprise me that Edwards would sell his soul for a political office. However, a person as intelligent as he is should know that Clinton will not win the nomination and the person who he should be cutting a deal with is Obama. No matter who Edwards endorses, it will not matter all that much in the polls anyway. The race is tightening in Pennsylvania and Obama will run the table in all the primaries and caucuses that come after.

Elizabeth has a lot to offer, she was kind of a co-candidate with John, and I'm glad to see that Hillary respects her and wants her to have some place in the administration. Hillary has been preparing for the job of president and gathering her staff, and that's what ready on day one really means. As someone who greatly admires Elizabeth and John, I really pleased that there seems to be a convergence of great minds going on.

I think Elizabeth Edwards supports Clinton and that John Edwards may lean towards Obama, but that he will not endorse either candidate because of the "family feud" - at least I hope he won't endorse Clinton, which would be a gigantic mistake!

I don't think endorsing Clinton is a mistake or a bad political or career move. She is very much in this race, and she awakens as much passion as Mr. Obama does, and anyone who endorses either candidate will lose nothing because regardless of all the hate-Hillary mongering here, she is as a great candidate as he is. As it has been said: they are both superstars.
So I think it would be great if Senator Edwards endorses Hillary. After what Richardson did, this would help her a lot.

By the way, please, do not forget, Obama is as much a politician as any of them. They just have been at it a little longer. May I be granted life and wisdom to see what Mr. Obama will be in 15 years. Actually, I know because politicians are not movements.

Absolutely. Any legitimate form of criticism is 'hate-mongering'...it's been that way for 'ions and ions'...

Obama's arrogance as well as that of his supporters is such that he is convinced that with oratory he will fix things. He relies on his gift of gab and believes that he will talk people into doing things.

He has shown himself to be someone of very little action, passive and comes across as even a bit lazy. No, he doesn't come across as cool or laid back, he comes across as lazy. A president has to be engaged and hands on, especially the one to take over now, at this particular point in history.

I am not one that likes to say "I told you so" but if Mr. Obama manages to win the nomination and, consequently, the presidency and as I suspect, shows himself to be totally incapable, I will get on this page and say to all the Obamamaniacs: "Oops, I told you so", for as many ions as it is possible for me to say it. It will be small comfort, though, for the mess the United States and the rest of the world is about to become. I am bracing myself for such a scenario.
