Tale From the Trail
Nancy and I went our separate ways this morning, but I ran into her as we were waiting for an Obama rally to begin here in Derry. She went to a Hillary Clinton event this morning at the same Nashua high school that Obama packed yesterday--and found another huge crowd. She also came across a California man named Richard Bonati, visiting his mother here, who told her a story that shows how hard the campaigns are fighting for every vote:
When some Obama canvassers showed up at Bonati's door on Friday morning, he mentioned that they would really love to go the big Democratic dinner that night, but didn't want to the shell out $100 each for tickets. He jokingly told the canvassers that if they could snag some tickets for the Bonatis, Obama would pick up their votes.
Their phone rang soon after, with an offer of dinner tickets. Rack up two more votes for Obama--one on Tuesday, and another on February 5.
