A Muslim in the White House?
I would love to hear Hugh Hewitt's take on this statement from Romney:
I asked Mr. Romney whether he would consider including qualified Americans of the Islamic faith in his cabinet as advisers on national security matters, given his position that "jihadism" is the principal foreign policy threat facing America today. He answered, "…based on the numbers of American Muslims [as a percentage] in our population, I cannot see that a cabinet position would be justified. But of course, I would imagine that Muslims could serve at lower levels of my administration."
Just fyi: Percentage of American population that is Muslim, as of 2001: .6 (an increase of 106% since 1990). Percentage that is Mormon: 1.4 (an increase of 12% since 1990). But that's not even the point, is it?
UPDATE: A response to Romney's response.
