If you want to cover more than entertainment and health/lifestyle, you had better hire back some aggressive reporters. The line between Time and magazines like People is becoming more and more blurred.

Well, since my 'puter is on the verge of a nervous breakdown, I'm unable to view the video, but I do want to thank addlie loggins for addressing that "Second Commandment" comment from
Joe's article. My mind initially thought Second Amendment when I read it (one of those little tricks the mind plays when what you are reading doesn't quite make sense), and I was scratching my head and saying, "Huh?" for most of the article.

Now, it has been many and many a year ago since I was a Southern Baptist, but way back then we actually did learn some of the scriptures, the Ten Commandments, and the books of the Bible. Additionally, I had a teacher whose husband was a Southern Baptist minister, and that teacher read to us each day from a children's Bible story book. Seems I recall that the Ten Commandments (two slabs of stone) were housed in the Ark of Covenant, along with Aaron's budded rod, some Manna from heaven and other associated important things. I never did LEARN that the Golden Rule was one of the Ten Commandments. The Golden Rule comes in part, as I recollect, from The Sermon on the Mount, but maybe things have changed since I went to school. We learned that Pluto was a planet way back then, and we sure didn't pronounce Uranus the way it is pronounced now.

I recall when I was in the first grade, a Coca-Cola representative came to our school and distributed red pencils and a wooden rulers with the Golden Rule printed on each. I guess they should have said "Second Commandment." Hmmm

I recently heard announced on CNN that a survey indicates we are ignorant about religion, but since Huckabee is touting himself as a "Second Commandment" candidate, I would have honestly expected him to at least know what in the hell he was talking about, and I would have expected Joe to ask him what in the hell he was talking about too.

This is beyond sad! But what do I know? I went to school in the Dark Ages.

So here's a queestion: which is more in keeping with Orwell's vision: Hillary who will do anything to retain power or the liberal activists who demand that she follow their orthodoxy or they'll make mean videos about her?

The point of the initial post by Big Blog Brother was to suggest that because of small numbers, blogger's viewpoints were unimportant. The use of the Civil Rights example was to explain that small numbers did not equal lack of impact. Hopefully , you really understood that and aren't locked into the concrete thought suggested by your post.

I don't think posting Obama clips and then having Hilary at the end would produce the same effect. Hillary is the status quo. She takes no strong positions on anything. She's boring. She's John Kerry in drag. Having her at the end would be satire. It would be a Rich Little impersonation of edgy. There would be about 50 video responses mocking her.

And while Obama occasionally gets mired in the muck of middle ground politician speak, in general, his speeches and ideas are far more exciting.

So any candidate touting himself as "The 2nd Commandment Candidate" had better be prepared to explain which version he's chosen, and why that preference isn't a de facto violation of the Establishment Clause of the Constitution.
